Venture Outdoors will host a half marathon beginning at 8 a.m. at the Pickens Doodle Trail Head located at 124 Railroad Street. Enjoy a family friendly run with scenic views of the mountains along the Doodle Trail. The City of Easley will host their hydration station at the turn around point for the half marathoners. The race will conclude back at the Pickens Doodle Trail Head.

Registration is open until 09/28/2017 at 11pm.

Packet pick up will be from 7-7:45am at the Doodle Trail Head on the day of the event.

Race start time will be at 8am for the half marathon and there is a 4 hour time limit.

While you are on route there are three hydration stations operated by City of Pickens Event Volunteers, Clemson Health Extension and the City of Easley at the turn around point.

One of our sponsors, Table Rock Tea will be at the finish line with a cold tea freshly brewed for all of our finishers.

All who finish the race will receive a finisher’s medal.


There will be an award for first, second and third overall for male and female.


There will be first, second and third place medals for both male and female categories for the following groups:

  • Under 19

  • 20-29 years old

  • 30-39 years old

  • 40-49 years old

  • 50-59 years old

  • 60-69 years old

  • 70 and above


All funds raised from Venture Outdoors Day will be split between the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation and the Pickens Youth Athletic Corporation, PYAC.

Proceeds benefiting the Zeta Tau Alpha foundation will support scholarships, educational programing, leadership development and the fight against breast cancer which includes their partnerships with Bright Pink and the American Cancer Society.

The PYAC is a local nonprofit organization who provides financial assistance to children who desire to participate in recreational sports but whose families might not have the financial means by covering the registration costs and some uniform costs.

After the race join us on Main Street at the Amphitheater for Venture Outdoors Day workshops and lunch downtown.

There is public parking for the race at City of Pickens Public Works directly across the street from the Doodle Trail Head in the parking lot of in the grass.
