Come join us for a morning of fun, fellowship, and fitness as we remember our hero, CPT David Hortman. In addition to being a highly decorated and respected Army officer and pilot, Dave was a fitness fanatic with a contagious smile and a fun-filled heart. Not only will this event honor and celebrate Dave's life, but it will also help us remember those who bravely serve our country and protect the freedoms we enjoy today.

The 2nd Annual Run to Remember: CPT David Hortman 5k Run / Walk is sponsored by Friends of Boys State, a non-profit organization supporting the Palmetto Boys State program. All proceeds will go directly to Friends of Boys State and, at Dave's request, provide scholarships for exceptional individuals who may need financial assistance to help make their experience at Palmetto Boys State a reality.

Race Course: Our certified race course features the historic neighborhood in and around the Boulevard Street area including a showcase of the beautiful Anderson University. The canopy-covered 5k run and walk will be chipped timed with official race results posted on-line. The race will conclude on the Anderson County Sports Campus and will feature an awards presentation, music, and refreshments.

Race Format: Individual awards will be awarded for Overall Men and Women finishers as well as Overall Master's Men and Women finishers: 1st ($75), 2nd ($50) and 3rd (entry fee). Gifts/prizes will also be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age division by gender.
