This is a fairly flat course (with one surprise hill) and it's proved to be very fast for a few in the past especially Charles Ware (2011) with a blistering record shattering time of 15:13.2. The course meanders through some beautiful countryside and takes you through tree lined neighborhoods. Registration includes a great tee shirt and lots of post-race goodies. This year we offer registration for an entire family  for only $48. A Family is defined as one or both parents and all children that are 12 years old or younger. Any children that are 13 years and older must register as an individual. All family members must be in the same household. A Hero’s 5k was founded in 2010 and is a 5k walk/run held annually in February at Furman University to remember all of the soldiers who fought, died, and lived for our great country. We exist to raise awareness of the sacrifices made each day by the United States Military, and to raise money to support the needs of South Carolina servicemen and women and their families. A Hero’s 5K proudly supports the efforts of Upstate Warrior Solution. All proceeds from the 2014 race will go to this brand new organization focusing on the needs of returning veterans in Upstate South Carolina.
